Congratulations to sophomore Noah Bontrager for beating his own school record in the 3200 meter race today at State Finals in Bloomington with a time of 9:01.69. He ran his previous record on April 19 with a time of 9:03.56. Noah's time today placed him 5th overall at State. Well done, Noah.

Congratulations to Noah Bontrager, the Regional Champion in both the 1600 meter and the 3200 meter races. He will advance to State Championships for each. Way to run, Noah!



Seventh grade math students in Mrs. Atra's and Mrs. Cory's classes worked with partners to create 3D models. Then they measured and calculated the volume and surface area of their animal models.







Earlier today, Mrs. Cowley’s Sophomore Honors English 10 celebrated the completion of reading The Great Gatsby by having a party in honor of the novel.





Breaking records! Congratulations to Adelyn Rainsberger who ran a State-qualifying race last night in the 800 meter. Not only did she qualify for State, she broke the school record for the 800 meter with a time of 2:17.01. The previous record was 2:18.1 held by Nicole Williams. Way to work for it, Adelyn!



Congratulations to the Junior High Girls and Boys track and field teams at the State meet this past weekend in Terre Haute. Westview had multiple students place in the top 20 at State!
Remington Helmuth placed 2nd in Pole Vault with a jump of 11'. The boys 4x800 team of AJ Martin, Travis Gingerich, Cole Miller, and Elijah Watts placed 5th overall with a time of 9:09. Tyler Stutzman (no picture available) placed 8th in Pole Vault with a jump of 9'6". The girls 4x800 team of Merrill Warrener, Sara Bontrager, Janae Bontrager, and Morgan Grossman placed 16th overall with a time of 10:47. Way to represent, Warriors!

Congratulations to the High School Boys Track team at Sectionals last week. Westview claimed first place in 4 events and qualified for a total of 6 Regional events. Two of the six events set new sectional records!
The two sectional records were set in the 1600 meter run and the 4x800 relay. Noah Bontrager ran a 4:18:83 in the 1600 meter and beat Andrew Beagley's previous sectional time of 4:18.91 set in 1995. The 4x800 team of Aidan McBride, Bentley Ryall, Cole Bontrager, and Noah Bontrager ran a 8:00.57, replacing East Noble's 2005 time of 8:05.45. Westview brought home two more first place wins: Noah Bontrager in the 3200 meter run and Curtis Miller won the Pole Vault competition with a height of 13'6".
Aidan McBride qualified for regionals in the 800 meter run, and Ian Bontrager qualified for regionals in the 300 meter hurdles. Well done, Warriors!







Sectional Champs! Westview Girls Tennis defeated Fremont and will move on to Regionals on Tuesday, May 21st at Carroll. Congratulations, Warriors!

Congratulations to Adelyn Rainsberger who won the 800 meter run at Sectionals last night, setting a new Sectional meet record with a time of 2:18.34 and nearing Westview's all-time school record (2:18.10) for the 800 meter run. Westview's 4x800 team and 4x400 team also qualified for Regionals. The 4x800 qualifying team included Adelyn Rainsberger, Annagail Warrener, Kiana Mast, and Bailey Manns. The 4x400 qualifying team included Adelyn Rainsberger, Jordan Wasson, Marilyn Yoder, and Memphis Bontrager. Congratulations and best of luck!




Westview High School's 2024 Fine Arts Gala is on Friday, May 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm. Doors will open at 6:00, with the concert starting at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be served before and after the concert.
High School art show awards will be presented between musical performances. Parents, if your high school student is in an art class, photography, yearbook, and/or graphic design and placed in the top three in their category, they will be recognized at the gala. Students in the top 3 for each category will be notified by Wednesday.
Please join us in celebrating these extremely talented musical and artistic students!


The Junior High art show and spring concert will be held on Wednesday, May 15. Doors to the art show will open at 6:00, and the concert begins at 7:00. We look forward to showcasing the talent of the Junior High students!


Congratulations to Lex Thompson, a Westview Jr-Sr High School 8th grader, who competed at the NASP Archery Eastern Nationals meet in Louisville on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Lex participated in two events - the Bullseye and the 3D - and performed well in each. In the Bullseye competition, he scored 288/300, ranking him 13th of all 993 8th grade boys who competed at this level. In the 3D event, Lex scored 282/300 and ranked 23rd out of 416 middle school boys who competed in that event. Overall, Lex ranked 146 out of 7574 (top 2%) in the bullseye competition and 159 out of 3353 (top 5%) in the 3D competition, qualifying him for the NASP Championship in Daytona.
NASP stands for National Archery in the Schools Program. During the season, archers compete in local, state qualifying, and regional events. At the Eastern Nationals meet, they attempt to qualify for NASP Championship, which Lex was successfully able to do.


Last Friday, the Westview Junior High students and staff celebrated spring sports and academic achievements up to this point of the school year. We spent the afternoon competing in various Warrior Olympic events and ended the day with a staff versus students softball game.
