2019 Westview alumni, Ashya Klopfenstein, named All-American honorable mention by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association! #WarriorPride
Eight years ago, on this very day, we were in the midst of a heat wave. 😳

Governor Eric Holcomb announced today that all Indiana schools will be closed through May 1st, and all state standardized tests are canceled. Westview will continue to put together plans to meet the needs of our school community. For now, stay safe and positive.
#selfquarantine Day 1 lesson....How many of you do not know how to change a tire? 🙋♀️It’s something we all need to learn. Please take 5 minutes to watch this informative video with your child.

Well...it’s not how we wanted to spend the next month, but we’re officially done until April 20th. Remember to practice social distancing, wash your hands, help your neighbors and enjoy this timely picture from junior, photography student, Nick Mortrud. #impressiveskills
STAY SAFE, WARRIORS!
Our community continues to provide for our children. ❤️ #Together
To everyone in the Westview community, don't forget to complete the 2020 Census that should have arrived in the mail. The data you provide remains confidential and helps the federal government determine how much financial support they will give our schools, fire departments, police force, and local transportation. Both the paper and online forms are easy to navigate. Our community needs all of us to be counted, so we can be adequately funded. Thank you!

Junior-high parents:
While there will be no homework assigned in language arts classes during our shut down, all 7th and 8th-grade students are being taken to the library during their language arts class periods and are being encouraged to bring home books to read during this time. Also, junior high students have subscriptions to IXL and Newsela, which can be accessed from home if internet is available. These subscriptions are available to practice skills learned in their language arts classes.
Fun fact: On Monday, our students checked out 1,139 books! To put this in perspective, we checked out 2,295 books during March 2019. In other words, we checked out 1/2 of our monthly average in one day. A huge thank you to our teachers for encouraging reading over this break and to Mrs. Dee Hostetler and Mrs. Vickie Lambright for helping our students checkout ALL THOSE books!
You ladies rock!
Jostens will not be here today to distribute caps and gowns to seniors. We will set up a new date upon our return.
Athletic physicals scheduled for April 14 have been canceled. We are looking at alternative dates.
Practices will continue to take place Monday-Friday of this week but will not be allowed after that.
Hang tough, Warriors! We will get through this together.
Seniors....be sure to pick up your cap and gown tomorrow at lunch. #classof2020
The seniors of the music department would like to take time to say THANK YOU to our community for supporting our Senior Scholarship Chicken BBQ. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to hold the concert last night, but we appreciate our community and they’re continued support.
Congratulations to senior, Jessa Owens. She is the first Westview archer to qualify for the state competition. Jessa will be shooting at the state tournament on March 14. Please wish her luck!!
One thing is for sure...when the Whippin' Warriors visit Meadowview Elementary, everyone's day gets a little brighter. Thank you, Meadowview, for inviting us and allowing us to entertain you! #WarriorPride
