The Indiana Department of Education has released the list of Four Star Schools for the 2017-18 school year, and we are honored to be named a Four Star School again. “Receiving designation as a Four Star School reflects academic excellence among students, educators, and the administration,” said Dr. Jennifer McCormick, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction. To receive a Four Star status, schools must meet the following criteria:
1. A school must have received an “A” on the state’s A-F Accountability system for the 2017-2018 school year.
2. A school must have tested at least 95% of students on ISTEP English/Language Arts and Math.
3. Combined ISTEP Pass Percentage (Pass Percentage of English/Language Arts ISTEP + Pass Percentage of Math ISTEP) must be in Top 25th Percentile for each grade tested.
4. Percent Passing Both ISTEP (Percent of students who passed both the English/Language Arts ISTEP + Math ISTEP) must be in the Top 25th Percentile for each grade tested.
A huge thank you to the school board, administration, teachers, paraprofessionals, secretaries, school counselors, custodians, cafeteria, athletic department, bus drivers, parents and the community for making Westview a Four Star place to learn! #WeAreWestview #ItTakesAVillage
