The 5th Grade Art classes have finished their unit on Value with drawings of Panda Bears. The students used a white charcoal pencil to shade the white fur of the pandas on a piece of black paper. Each composition featured a close-up portrait of the panda’s face and then a full body drawing. The drawings were completed by drawing a bamboo forest for the background. Through this project students also learned many facts about pandas and just how important bamboo forests are for their survival.
Mr. Keiser spent a great deal of time trying to choose the next featured artist. The 5th grade class did an amazing job on all of their drawings. After much consideration, Mr. Keiser has selected Julia Miller from 5E as our latest featured artist. Julia was able to skillfully draw both versions of the panda. She exhibited great control with the white charcoal and was able to capture the shadows within the white fur and background. Congratulations to Julia Miller and the entire 5th grade class for showing great effort with their panda drawings.
