The 5th Grade Art classes recently worked with the Art Element of Shape to create a Notan. A Notan is a Japanese word that means ‘dark/light harmony’. The design uses both positive and negative space in the artwork. These spaces are created when the artists cut shapes from one sheet of paper and glue them to another. The 5th graders also worked with the concept of symmetry to create their designs.
Mr. Keiser is proud to announce that the featured artist for the Notan project is Kaiden Miller from 5A. Kaiden did an excellent job cutting out some very detailed shapes. The color and shapes of his design were very eye-catching and showed great craftsmanship in cutting out the shapes. Great work Kaiden!
