Following the multicolored RV paintings, some of the 6th grade Art students did monochromatic paintings of forests. Students created a sense of depth in their forests by overlapping trees, making trees larger in the foreground and smaller in the background. By using one color and tinting it with white or shading it with black they also made distant trees more pale and faded looking compared to the trees in front.
The 6th Grade featured Artist for the ‘Atmospheric Forest’ project is Loraine Bontrager from 6E. Loraine successfully met all the criteria of color, size, and overlapping. She also constructed a beautiful looking tree style that showed great brush control. Congratulations, Loraine!
