The 5th Graders recently finished drawings of Panda Bears. The students used a white charcoal pencil to shade the white fur of the pandas on a piece of black paper. Each composition featured a close-up portrait of the panda’s face and then a full body drawing. Students completed their drawings by adding a bamboo forest in the background. This project taught students many facts about the panda bear and how conservation efforts have helped save this once endangered species.
The featured artist for the Panda Bear drawings had skillfully draw both versions of the panda. The artist exhibited great control with the white charcoal and was able to capture the shadows within the white fur and background. Congratulations to Addy Kauffman from 5H as she is our next featured artist! Mr. Keiser also wanted to commend the entire 5th grade class for showing great effort and hard work on their panda drawings.
