In their latest project, the 6th graders have been studying how shadows and highlights are cast onto 3 dimensional objects. To study how light works with objects in real life, students looked at a photograph of white eggs on a white table cloth. They tried to capture all of the various areas that the shadows and highlights were visible. They finished off their still lives by cutting out the background of white paper and placed it on top of colored construction paper.
Mr. Keiser has selected Brett Springer from 6B as the featured artist for the egg still life. Brett had wonderful areas of dark and light shadows that gave his drawing a strong sense of realism.
Great attention to all of the wonderful details, Brett!
